No structures shall be erected without the permission of the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Parks and Recreation. Trellises shall be no taller than 5 feet in height and shall be placed only in the center of your plot running the width of your plot. The intent of this rule is to keep you from shading your neighbors' plots. All tool boxes shall be within your plot and not in the aisles. The tool boxes shall be no larger than 18" x 18" x 5' and shall not be elevated off the ground more than 2 inches. They shall be placed out of sight, away from the main center aisle and away from the edges of the Manoa Community Garden. All trellises and tool boxes shall be painted green. See one of the officers for the exact color.
Walkways surrounding a gardener’s plot must be kept clear of all obstructions. Anything* up to 1 foot in height may be located on a plot’s border, over 1 foot and up to 3 feet in height shall be located a minimum of 6 inches inside a plot’s borders. Anything over 3 feet in height (up to the 5 foot maximum allowance) shall be located a minimum of 1 foot inside a plot’s borders. (*”Anything” includes raised beds, fences, walls, borders, trellises, posts, compost/storage boxes, plants, and the like. Height is measured from the brick pathway.)
